Styke’s Super X Series Assault

NSW Yamaha Junior Development Team (NSW YJDT) rider Luke Styke over the past two weekends contested rounds four and five of the Super X Series in the Pro Lites class and came away with creditable results.

The fourth round of the Super X Series at Parramatta Stadium near Sydney in NSW on Saturday night, November 8, saw Styke come away with an impressive ninth place finish in the Pro Lites class final. Styke in the final recorded the sixth fastest lap of the race. It was an impressive night overall for Styke as he had qualified for the final by recording a third place finish in his qualifying heat race.

Last Saturday night (November 15) saw the fifth round of the Super X Series held down at WIN Stadium in Wollongong on the South Coast of NSW and the going was a little tougher for Styke in the final showdown. Styke in the final had made a good start only to stall his bike in the first turn jam and this consequently left him in last place. For the remainder of the final Styke fought on and at the finish ended up in a hard fought 13th place. Styke finished his qualifying heat race in fourth place to book a spot in the final.

NSW YJDT manager Nik Sullivan was full of credit for Styke and his performances in the two Super X Series rounds.

“Luke done extremely well considering that the majority of the field had three rounds of the series already under their belt,” Sullivan commented.

“Once again, Luke shown his promising ability as a rider as he is just as capable on a Super X track as he is on a Moto X track.”
